Youth Sports Instructor

Job Title: Youth Sports Instructor
Status: Part Time, Non-Exempt
Hours: 7-10 hours/week, must be available between 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM, Monday – Friday with occasional weekends
Wage Range: Negotiable based on experience and education

Position Summary: The Centre is looking for an individual interested in working with our youth sports program. We are looking for an individual who has experience and a passion for working with children. This person will have a passion for sports, are high energy, and want to help youth learn, then the Youth Sports Instructor position is for you. We are currently seeking candidates to teach Wee Sports basketball, soccer, and t-ball. This position may require shifts ranging from morning to evening hours and some weekend hours.

Required Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of assigned sports including rules and regulations
  • Understanding of how the game is played including the principles, practice, and techniques used in recreational sports.

Job Title: Welcome Center Staff
Status: Part Time, Non-Exempt
Hours: Night and weekend shifts available

Position Summary: If you are interested in working in a fast paced environment with a focus on our member experience, this might be the right position for you. We are looking to hire for part-time. Good computer skills and strong work ethic required. Some flexibility to help out and sub when needed.

Summer Camp Centre or YCI Staff

Job Title: Summer Camp Centre or YCI Staff
Status: Part Time, Non-Exempt
Hours: 25-40 hours/week, must be available between 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM Monday – Friday
Wage Range: Starting pay range is $15.00 per hour, based on experience and availability

Position Summary: The Centre is looking for individuals interested in working in our summer programs. Children that attend our summer programs range from 3 – 14 years old. Summer staff lead games and activities, oversee behavior management, plan activities, supervise children on weekly field trips, and ensure that children have a great summer at the Centre!

Applicants must:

  • Be 18 years or older to work with Camp Centre 3 – 8 year olds or 17 years or older to work with YCI.
  • Be available June 1 – August 30, between 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

Fitness on Demand Host

Job Title: Fitness on Demand Host
Status: 
Part Time, Non-Exempt
Hours: Minimum of 2 classes per week
Wage Range: Negotiable based on experience and education

Position Summary: This position will be responsible for hosting group exercise classes both regularly scheduled classes and substitute classes via our Fitness on Demand system. Focus will be on providing an amazing experience for members from start to finish of class and the host is welcome to participate in the class while hosting. This position will work a variety of shifts, dependent upon need.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age of 18
  • High school diploma/GED
  • CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid (certifications can be obtained at the Centre after employment has started) 
  • One year or more experience working with fitness related programming
  • Must be flexible and able to work with a wide array of staff members
Fitness Desk Staff

Job Title: Fitness Desk Staff
Status: Part time, non-exempt
Hours: Flexible scheduling with night and weekend shifts available 
Wage Range: Negotiable based on experience and education

Position Summary: The Centre is looking for an individual who is passionate about fitness and health with a desire to help others. The successful applicant should have a friendly, outgoing nature and be proactive in achieving the challenges set for them. Responsibilities include supervising the weight and cardio rooms, answering fitness/equipment questions, cleaning, and helping members.

  • Certifications: CPR, AED, and First Aid (Certifications can be obtained at the Centre)

Personal Trainer

Job Title: Personal Trainer  
Status: Part Time, non-exempt
Hours: All hours available weekdays and weekends
Wage Range: Negotiable based on experience and education

Position Summary: A Personal Trainer is responsible for developing, delivering, supervising, administering, and evaluating a personal training program designed for Centre Members. The incumbent will meet with members, schedule future meetings, and supervise the member’s progress. The individual will implement activities designed to meet the specified objectives and goals of the Centre.

Required Qualifications

  • Education and/or equivalent experience relating to fitness, exercise physiology, or health and wellness
  • Certifications: CPR, AED, and First Aid (Certifications can be obtained at the Centre)
  • Excellent organization, communication, and administration skills
  • Ability to recruit, train, and motivate paid and volunteer staff
  • National Fitness Certification in Group Exercise and/or Personal Training
Group Fitness Instructor

Job Title: Group Fitness Instructor

Position Summary: The Centre is looking for individuals interested in instructing group exercise classes. We’re looking for individuals who have experience and a passion for working with individuals to provide teaching and instruction to maximize workouts. The instructor is responsible for conducting safe, effective and enjoyable exercise classes by providing excellent leadership, up-to-date quality instruction and high energy motivation.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older and have a fitness/group exercise background.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to, communicate exercise physiology principles as related to a well-rounded fitness program.
  • Physically fit to lead class at the appropriate level.
  • Maintain current certification.
  • Maintain current CPR/AED, First Aid certification.
  • Develop routines with appropriate music and choreography.
  • Willingness to continue in-house training in order to improve teaching skills or expand current skill level.
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals.

Job Title: Lifeguard
Status: Part Time Non-Exempt
Hours: 10-29 hours/week, daytime, evening, and weekend hours available

Position Summary: As a certified lifeguard, your primary responsibility is to maintain a safe swimming environment by enforcing all rules and regulations of the pool and surrounding area.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring activities in and near the water.
  • Preventing injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations and behaviors.
  • Enforcing facility rules and regulations and educating members about them.
  • Recognizing and responding quickly and effectively to all emergencies.
  • Administering First Aid, CPR and AED in an emergency if necessary.
  • Working as part of a team with other guards and staff.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Testing chemicals.
  • Assisting members which include conducting safety orientations, performing swim tests, and fitting lifejackets.
  • Cleaning or performing maintenance.
  • Completing records and reports.
  • Performing opening and closing responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 15
  • Lifeguard, CPR, AED, Basic First Aid, and O2 Certifications (can be obtained at the Centre).  If you receive your Lifeguard certification at the Centre, after 8 months of employment in good standing, the Centre will reimburse the cost of your certification.
